Steel Division Championship Ends with Reapers Dominating, Hellfish Happy to Be Upright

In a championship showdown worthy of the Havoc League spotlight, the Reapers earned a 4-0 victory over a determined Flying Hellfish squad in the Steel Division Final.

Despite skating short-handed with just nine players and missing several key contributors due to injuries, the Flying Hellfish—who had finished the regular season in last place—fought their way to the final after a stunning upset over the top-seeded team. Their resilience was on full display, pushing the Reapers every shift.

Reapers Captain Jacob Murphy, in his first season wearing the "C," led by example with two goals and a strong presence on the ice. He scored at 11:19 of the first period and again early in the second, providing a steady spark for his squad.

John Jacobs opened the scoring at 12:40 of the first, assisted by Josh Austin and Taylor Presley on a crisp, textbook play. Scott Romiza added the fourth goal midway through the second, padding the Reapers’ lead with a confident finish.

One memorable moment came when two Hellfish players—Jason Peaslee and Ken Prather—collided at center ice, creating a thunderous impact that rattled boards and had the crowd wondering if the ghost of Chief Wiggum was probably in the stands muttering, "Nothing to see here, folks—just two Flying Hellfish going full Blinky on each other."

The Hellfish managed 27 quality shots on net, but Reapers goalie Jon Ashley stood tall, delivering a stellar shutout performance with several highlight-reel saves. He guarded the net like the last known location of the Hellfish Bonanza treasure was behind him.

As the final horn sounded, both teams earned the respect of the crowd for their efforts. The Reapers skated away with the Steel Division crown, but the Flying Hellfish left with heads held high after a season-ending performance that was anything but forgettable.

Congratulations to the Reapers, your Steel Division champions—and hats off to the Flying Hellfish for an inspiring and hard-fought playoff run!
